Spanish Wells Once Again

We had a great time at Harbour Island.  Joined up with the Royal Palm Yacht Club Air/Sea/Land Cruise.  We toured Dunmore Town, Harbour Island via golf cart.  The beach on the Atlantic coast of Harbour Island is pink in color.  When you look close there are little specks of red coral in the sand.  That's what causes the overall pink color.

This morning we pushed off the dock at 6:30.  Bandit drove Salty Lady and Big City fell in behind her.  We were next followed by a sport fish.  Big City and the sport fish broke off at Bridge Point (the devil's Backbone jumping off point for the Abacos).  Salty and Tonto went all the way in to Spanish Wells.  The 11-NM trip took about 90 minutes.

We both fueled up and are now waiting for a diver.  He is currently busy with under water work blocking a big lobster boat on a haul out track.  This is off season for lobsters so the boats are getting pulled for new bottom paint and annual maintenance.  Then the diver will pull our props and put on our spare set.  Once fixed we'll head for Nassau.

Ann & Mike leave Salty Lady tomorrow (Thursday, 16 June).  They will be replaced by Linda & Tony Smythe.  JoAnn and Claude Welles will join David & I on Tonto's Reward.  They we head for the Exumas.

Cheers, Gail B.
