Harbour Island

Bandit, our pilot, drove Salty Lady from her fly bridge and Tonto's Reward followed very close behind.  We made it through the Devil's Backbone safely and never bumped anything.  I'm very glad we had a pilot!

After getting tied up at Valentine's Marina, David went off in search of the diver who was supposed to be lined up to pull our props and put on our spare set.  However, it turned out to not so easy.  David talked with two divers and the harbor master.  Seems they only have the equipment to pull small 3-blade props.  We have large 5-blade props.  However, Bandit came to the rescue again.  Yesterday afternoon he was piloting BIG CITY, 140-foot motor vessel, through the Devil's Backbone.  David talked with him when he got here.  We think we now have it arranged for someone from Spanish Wells to bring the proper sized prop puller to Harbour Island and get us fixed up.

In lieu of prop pulling, we went sightseeing yesterday afternoon.  Had access to two golf carts so Tichenors, Bordelons and Bernstein putted around Harbour Island.  The beach on the Atlantic side of Harbour Island has PINK sand.  It is very fine, soft and really pink in color.  Beautiful beaches.

l'll get photos edited and on the GHYC website soon!

Cheers, Gail B.
